Physician-led psychiatry, built for men

I’m Dr. Andres Vinuela, MD, founder of MindGuy MD. I provide telepsychiatry exclusively for men living in New Jersey.

I created this practice because traditional mental health wasn’t built for the way high-performing men work. You don’t need a 10-minute med check or a generic quiz. You need a direct conversation with a physician who understands performance pressure, and a clear plan you can execute.

Credentials

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD)
  • Licensed to practice medicine in the State of New Jersey.
  • Specialized focus: men’s mental health, anxiety, ADHD, mood disorders, sleep

My Approach: Tactical Mental Health

  1. Evaluate like a physician first. We review medical history, metabolic factors, sleep, and medications because your brain doesn’t work in isolation.
  2. Use evidence-based tools. I integrate principles from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to build practical skills, not just insight.
  3. Optimize for performance. Treatment targets focus, emotional regulation, and sleep are the three pillars that drive professional results.
  4. Direct access. Private-pay means you text/email me directly. No call centers, no prior authorizations.

What to Expect

Initial Evaluation (60 minutes, video): Comprehensive psychiatric assessment, diagnosis discussion, and personalized treatment roadmap. If medication is appropriate, prescriptions are sent electronically to your New Jersey pharmacy.

Follow-ups (25-30 minutes): Medication adjustments, skill-building, and performance check-ins.

Private-Pay Model: We do not bill insurance. You receive a superbill for potential out-of-network reimbursement (typically 50-80% after deductible). This protects your privacy and gives us full clinical flexibility.

Important Disclosures

  • MindGuy MD provides care to New Jersey residents only via HIPAA-compliant telehealth.
  • New Jersey law (effective Feb 16, 2026) requires an in-person examination for certain Schedule II controlled substances. We will discuss this during your evaluation if relevant.
  • This practice is not for psychiatric emergencies. If you are in crisis, call or text 988, or go to your nearest emergency department.
  • Telepsychiatry is not a substitute for in-person care when clinically indicated.
